Mrs. Laurie Jewel Hawley, 75 of Adel passed away Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Memorial Convalscent Center. Mrs. Hawley was born June 7, 1937 to the late Allen & Lucy Sindt. She ran the beach areas at Reed Bingham State Park and Indian Springs State Park and was known as "Beach Granny." She also worked at the State Capitol for 8 years during the legislative hearing. Survivors include her daughter & son in law, Jackie & Leon Rose of Adel; son, Kenneth Hawley of Flouilla, GA; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Miranda, Jake, Danny, Alyssa, Chris, Keith, Chance, and Chase; six great grandchildren, William, Aylexus, Chase, Sydney, Trey, and Abbey; two sisters, Georgia Powell of Adel, and Mary L. Evans of Tifton. Mrs. Hawley was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hawley. No formal services will be held.
